Homemade dinner rolls are a beloved and versatile staple of many family meals and special occasions. These soft and fluffy bread rolls are freshly baked at home, filling the kitchen with a delightful aroma that evokes warmth and comfort. Here is a recipe for you to try them!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/45°C)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • One teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • One egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

1
In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
2
In a large bowl, combine yeast mixture, melted butter, salt, and 2 cups of flour. Stir well.
3
Gradually add the remaining flour, 1/4 cup at a time, until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
4
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
5
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
6
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape into rolls and place on a baking sheet.
7
Let the rolls rise for 30 minutes. Brush with beaten egg.
8
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and cool on wire racks.
