Honey Glazed Ham with Dijon Mustard is a classic and flavorful dish that’s perfect for holiday feasts, family gatherings, or a special Sunday dinner. The sweetness of the honey combined with the tangy depth of Dijon mustard creates a delicious glaze that complements the savory ham beautifully. Here’s a recipe to make your honey-glazed ham with Dijon mustard:

Ingredients

  • 1 fully cooked bone-in ham (about 8 to 10 pounds)
  • Cloves (optional, for studding the ham)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (or orange juice)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Ham:

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). If your ham is too large to fit in your oven, you may need to trim it slightly.

If you'd like, score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern and stud with cloves for added flavor and a classic presentation.
Make the Glaze:

In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the honey, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and ground ginger. Season with a little salt and pepper.

Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the glaze is smooth and slightly thickened.
Bake the Ham:

Place the ham on a rack in a roasting pan and tent loosely with aluminum foil. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until a thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the ham reads 140°F (60°C), indicating that it's warmed through.

About 20-30 minutes before the end of cooking, remove the foil and brush the ham generously with the honey mustard glaze. Return to the oven, uncovered, and continue to bake, glazing every 10 minutes, until the outside is caramelized and sticky.
Rest and Serve:

Once done, remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute, making the ham more moist and flavorful.
